Relaxation

The »Kirchenbauer« in Oberammergau is a place to relax and enjoy yourself. Visitors come to the »Kirchenbauer« for different reasons, to enjoy a glass of wine or to stay for a night or two because the »Kirchenbauer« is a wine tavern (with wine store) and a pension in one. The most spectacular thing about the »Kirchenbauer« is that there is nothing spectacular; apart from excellent German wines at a very fair price in a very beautiful place, of course.

You can sit in front of the old, opulently painted house on the attractive terrace – which is actually a little garden – or in the quaint wine tavern. And take in the view of either your glass or the beautiful village church of Oberammergau. Your host is Andreas Ruppenthal. He has worked in well-known establishments as a sommelier and is well versed in fine wines. His passions lie in German wines, the »Kirchenbauer« and his guests.
